Rebecca Mathias is a researcher associate and doctoral candidate in medical device regulatory science at the Else Kröner Fresenius Center for Digital Health, TU Dresden. With a background in electrical engineering, nanoscience, and nano-biotechnology, her work focuses on integrating digital health technologies into regulatory and health technology assessment frameworks. As part of the EU Horizon project Assess DHT, she examines how digital health technologies fit within existing regulatory and evaluation systems and explores pathways to improve their translation into clinical practice, ensuring their safe and effective adoption. She has authored publications in Nature Medicine and NPJ Digital Medicine, contributing to discussions on AI-enabled medical devices, post-market surveillance, and patient-centered digital health solutions. Rebecca is particularly passionate about advancing women’s health through regulatory innovation and fostering collaboration to bridge the gap between digital health development and real-world implementation.
