Coen Brummer

Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports

Coen Brummer studied political history (MA) as well as history and philosophy of science (MSc), and earned a PhD with a dissertation on 19th-century liberal politics. He has worked as a policy advisor and spokesperson in the Dutch House of Representatives, as a speechwriter for government officials, and as director of the scientific institute of the Dutch political party D66. He is currently a manager at the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, where he leads the departments for medical technology and substances of human origins. Key themes in his work include the safety, availability, and innovation of medical technologies.
