Coen Brummer studied political history (MA) as well as history and philosophy of science (MSc), and earned a PhD with a dissertation on 19th-century liberal politics. He has worked as a policy advisor and spokesperson in the Dutch House of Representatives, as a speechwriter for government officials, and as director of the scientific institute of the Dutch political party D66. He is currently a manager at the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, where he leads the departments for medical technology and substances of human origins.
