Sabyne van Mourik, Manager Business Development at Kiwa, is a key figure in the business development activities for the Products & Installations division, with a primary focus on the digital landscape, developing Testing, Inspection and Certification services support by training services for cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
She is currently responsible for establishing the AI Notified Body activities to assist customers in achieving compliance with the AI Act. This encompasses various fields of application such as the drinking water sector, alarm receiving centers, among others. And many different products, including gas appliances, drinking water appliances, connected devices, security and fire safety products, among many others. These applications and products are also impacted by AI and considered high-risk under the AI Act, and therefore, just like medical devices, subject to conformity assessments by a Notified Body.
With over 20 years of experience in business development, Sabyne brings valuable insights and even though she is not a technical or medical device expert, Sabyne brings valuable insights to this event based on over 10 years experience in the different fields of application and products all affected by AI, the associated regulatory landscapes and the difficulties customers face in their route to compliance.
